Seasons Greetings and some thoughts

To the whole community a few words about the past and the future.

Hi everyone,


I am currently on the road and have a moment to share thoughts.

First of all let me all wish you wonderful holidays together with your families and/or vehicle(s).

Maybe Santa brings some suprises to this community the next days.


Nevertheless I am currently working out a few things, that will determinate the future of this community. Until now there had been only one person who really donated and contributed financial aid to maintain this community.


About 1 month ago, I had to pay the domain fees and all in all this sums up: 25 Euros for the domain/yr plus 21 Euro/month for the server I am hosting this site on.


There are a few options I am considering:

  • move the whole community to another provider (only webspace), this may result in the worst case to a full or partial loss of all threads etc.
  • include ads; I know this will not fully pay the fees but help to reduce the burden a little - which means I need to include some PayWall for those using AdBlocker
  • add paid memberships, where people can Pay to get (or prolong) a Full-Membership
  • think of other ideas


However shutting down this community is the LAST thing I want to do..so if you got some ideas, send me a PM.

      Thank you for sharing the realities of the costs - to be honest I was not conscious of this - my sincere apologies.
      My cents worth - now that this is clear I’m sure that many, like myself, will be happy to donate a few shekels which, together, should be sufficient. The site is too precious to lose. Mike
